Summertime oilseed crops are here!

With summer season at its peak, oilseeds crops are flooding the market. This month we have Sunflower seeds from Ukraine and Peanuts (JAVA Variant) from India on the shelf.

We offer machine cleaned sunflower seeds from Ukraine to the markets world over, European Union, Middle East, Pakistan and Sri Lanka being the top markets. Ukraine is the world’s largest producer of sunflower, followed by Russia and European Union. Sunflower is a short season crop, cultivated best under crop rotations with crops that replenish soil water reserves.

Oil rich sunflower seeds are used for producing cooking oil and meal (which is a byproduct of the oil extraction process). Non-oil sunflower seeds are used as confectionary seeds. Confectionary sunflowers are further of three types, food-grade, ingredient seeds and birdseed. Food-grade is of the highest quality and birdseed the lowest.

Consumer retail market is the largest market for food-grade seeds. Packaged sunflowers, a specialty product are consumed as a health snack in hulled or shelled forms. Ingredient sunflowers are used by food manufacturing companies.

Peanut crop in India, available during the summers is the JAVA variant. We have JAVA variant of peanuts grown in Gujarat and Maharashtra arriving this month. India is the world’s second largest producer of groundnuts in the world and is India’s major oilseed crop. We supply edible peanuts, conforming to the highest standards. These peanuts could be further processed into blanched, roasted, salted and dry roasted forms or consumed directly by the food processing industry.
